With Michigan Tech hosting the Eastern Great Lakes Regional Competition, we chose a theme that represents our school’s heritage, mining. Using our knowledge and expertise we created Oar Rush, featuring a unique rocker angle, asymmetric hull, and more sustainable admixture. The success of Oar Rush and the team shined through as evident by our first place performance at regionals and ninth place at nationals making for an amazing experience for the team.
Competition Places:
Project Proposal: 1st at regionals and 15th at nationals
Technical Presentation: 1st at regionals and 9th at nationals
Final Project Prototype: 2nd at regionals and 14th at nationals
